You can do this AND allow them to be kids. We’re raising the next generation., doctors, politicians, members of society. So yes, it is that serious!!

How many adults are listening to podcasts, buying courses or finding a life coach to teach them consistency, motivation and discipline? So many! Why? Because these things weren’t instilled as a child! I 1000% agree with you, I parent this way as well.

My dad has always told us he raised future adults not forever children. I now apply this with my son!

They're kids until they're not kids. Eventually they will become adults and based on how and what you taught those kids is how they'll function is society and react to life and everyday stressors, etc. Great job mom, I agree with everything in this video!

I made my daughters start packing their own lunches in kindergarten. I would set everything out for them, talk to them about healthy choices, balanced meals, etc. They would select everything that they wanted for their lunch. They eventually started helping each other pack their lunches, in exchange for one of them making breakfast and the other packing afternoon snacks for sports. My oldest is now a college grad who has a great career ahead of her. My middle one just graduated highschool with her associates degree and is beginning nursing school and my youngest is a sophomore, who will be studying abroad next year. Was packing their own lunches the reason why? No of course not, but it helped with time management, team work, and personal responsibilities.

My favorite line is when they say “oh they’re not going to become pro athletes… or they’re not going to be lawyers” because you know what. If they do, love it for them. And if they don’t, guess what THAT wasn’t my goal.. my goal was this exactly, to raise them as a decent human being.

Among other things, my mother made us make our beds every single day. And now making my bed improves my mood so much. It doesn’t always have to be super complicated stuff!

My parents were strict, it was not a choice to graduate. If I got less than an A I was grounded for months with only access to books. Def wouldn’t change it though.

Period. As an educator and mom of 3, I couldn’t agree more. There has to be a balance is all. Once you have that down, it’s easy and fun for the kids.

This video makes me feel better that I’m not the only one with the same kind of mindset ❤️I’ve explained this with other parents and they just give me weird looks.

As a kindergarten teacher, thank you so much!!!! Children must understand boundaries and consequences. We do not live in a society without them. Motivation is taught and understanding why we do things and what are their consequences....whether that's positive/negative consequences. You're doing amazing! I'm so proud of you. 🫶🏼 thanks for raising tiny humans!

We let our kids be kids- but we are constantly holding them accountable, and teaching them to make good choices.

This is how we are raising our kids because me & my siblings had no where near this type of parenting & we are all unmotivated adults.
