@louisa.albanese: how’d i get diagon alley all to myself? everyone’s at the haunted houses. i’m not. this one’s for the true potterheads who’d rather rope drop diagon alley than a haunted house. while everyone sprints toward the house, the wizarding world is empty, and for a little while, it’s all yours. it’s literally my favorite time to visit, ever. here’s exactly how to do it: 1️⃣grab the scream early add on. it gets you into the park starting at 2pm. 2️⃣be inside by 5pm. miss that window and you’re stuck in the outside queue, and you risk losing your shot at a truly empty diagon. 3️⃣from 5 to 6, you’ll wait in a stay & scream zone while they set up the event. pick the san francisco zone, since it’s the closest one to the wizarding world. 4️⃣around 6 (but usually 10 to 15 minutes before), they release the zones to queue for houses. when everyone goes for the houses, you walk straight to diagon. 5️⃣enjoy the quietest diagon alley you’ve ever seen. it usually stays calm for at least an hour, sometimes more. a few things to know: 🕯️ it does fill in as the night goes on, but usually not as packed as a regular park day. 🕯️ death eaters roam diagon during hhn. There’s a little show that happens on a rotation on the stage and then they roam around interacting with guests. They’re looking for Harry Potter. Will check your arm for dark marks and duel, so bring a wand. 🕯️ the first couple of horror nights closest to sept 1 (basically a hp holiday) means way more potterheads go to diagon instead of the houses those night. worth every galleon. save this for your next trip 👇
