@ladayien: I paid IKEA for both delivery and assembly because I wanted the convenience and peace of mind. Instead, this turned into one of the most frustrating customer experiences I’ve had. First, IKEA forgot to deliver one of the cabinet doors. When I contacted them, they sent a replacement… but it was the wrong door. TaskRabbit was scheduled to install it, only to discover it didn’t fit. I then drove 45 minutes to IKEA myself to pick up the correct door. TaskRabbit was scheduled again… and canceled. They rescheduled… and canceled again. Three failed appointments later, I was left with unfinished cabinets. To make matters worse, I discovered that the cabinets hadn’t even been properly secured to the wall, creating a potential safety issue. In the end, I had to finish the job myself. I paid for delivery. I paid for assembly. I paid for the service. Yet I still had to become the installer. Has anyone else had a similar experience with IKEA or TaskRabbit?
