Vex :
I’m not trying to sound smart, or anything, but truth be told. Eustass is a very well written character when you break him down. In One Piece, he represents raw ambition without the protection from the regular story. He wants it, that is the top spot, just as badly as anyone, but he’s probably the most willing to take every loss, scar, and consequence that comes with it, because he believes in order to be the greatest, you have to go up against any and everything without backing down or bowing away. What makes him stand out isn’t just his power neither, but his emotion underneath it, his loyalty to his crew is everything, his hatred for being looked down on is understanding, and his refusal to ever back down no matter how many times the world pushes him down is commendable. He’s not written to be clean neither. He’s written to be what is realistic in this world outside of plot, and that’s what makes his story hit so much harder than others.
