I belive this video has been misunderstood IMMENSELY by both sides. I see comments stating that I am an IRGC supporter - while I am the FURTHEST thing from an IRGC supporter. The whole point of this video was to point out that the Iranian team is in danger if they do speak out! They don’t have the comfort of being able to speak up on problems in Iran in the same sense that several of us outside of Iran do. Many do not realize that once the World Cup is over, they do have to return back to Iran. They’re in the complete spotlight right now. You have no idea the potential dangers their family back home in Iran may face if they make a public statement here against the IRGC. It’s quite selfish to put them to that. So no, I am by no means saying that they’re perfect human beings who do no wrong. But what I will say is that they shouldn’t be expected risk their lives. We have no idea what is forced and what’s not. Recall 2022, they didn’t sing the national anthem and then were forced to for the next match. For all of you criticizing them, respectfully, if you’re not Iran you don’t understand the danger they face upon arriving back home. If you’re Iranian, then you know how cruel the IRGC is. You’ve seen what they do to our people, they wouldn’t hold back on our soccer players. Seriously shame on anyone who curses them for simply being Iranian. They were born and raised in Iran. They have the right to play soccer. They can’t just magically choose to go play for some European country. Think for a minute, they’re hardly given opportunities. They fought all the odds and still made it to the World Cup, even when the world told them no. Other teams refused to play friendly matches with them because of politics. They’re damned if they do, and damned if they don’t by the public. If they were to speak out, they’d be punished by the IRGC. If they don’t, people will come on here and call them supporters of the killing of 40,000. So to all the Pahlavi supporters, I see you, and I understand you. But please, let’s have some grace on the team. They’re no different then us, other than the fact that they’re living in Iran.
