@masud_znz: The Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar has stated that it has plans to build an International Convention Center in the Fumba area, alongside developing a meetings incentives conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism project in the Nyamanzi area, Unguja, as well as constructing a conference hall in Pemba with the capacity to serve approximately 600 people. ​This statement was made by the Acting Minister of Tourism and Heritage, Mudrik Ramadhan Soraga, while responding to a question from the Representative of Chambani Constituency, Mahmoud Shineni Ali, who wanted to know the Government's plan regarding the construction of the center in Zanzibar. ​Soraga said these projects aim to strengthen the conference tourism sector in the country, attract international visitors, increase tourists' length of stay, as well as boost national revenue and employment opportunities for citizens. ​He explained that the Government has continued to put in place strategies to promote domestic tourism through media outlets, including radio, television, social media, and various programs that connect citizens to tourist attraction areas. ​Furthermore, he said the Government has set lower fee rates for citizens of Zanzibar and Tanzania Mainland to encourage them to participate more in domestic tourism activities. #zanzibar #tanzania #conventioncenter #conference
