Thank you for saying this honestly I’ve worked for department heads in the union world who I could see were probably not utilizing the budget adequately or to the best of their ability line. Producers in the union world also tend to openly state that they like to hire the same department heads over and over, which is also why I would say projects like Netflix productions start to look very redundant and boring when you know you have a job locked in. Why would you do anything unique and cool? Why would you try extra hard not all of us feel that way. I am a Costume Designer and I don’t care what project I’m on. I’m gonna give each and every project I work on my all but again I’ve worked for people who don’t see it that way I work for people who have been far too comfortable taking a union paycheck. Also, we often hear producers who will stay like oh well it’s just a Netflix project so you know they’re just pumping money into something so that they can roll out something on the network. I do love accounts like this though because there needs to be more people on the consumer side drawing attention to this so thank you for making this and for speaking up about it.
