@forhimalonejustforhim: First of all, I'm genuinely happy for Wilson Bethel. The guy deserves the attention he's getting, and honestly, I had a crush on him long before he ever played Bullseye. My problem isn't Wilson. My problem is what some people in this fandom are turning Bullseye into. I've started getting serious 2014 Winter Soldier fandom flashbacks. Suddenly it's all "I can fix him", "he's misunderstood", "he just needs love", while completely ignoring who Bullseye actually is. The whole point of the character is that he's an awful person. He's cruel, selfish, violent, and barely has any moral boundaries. That's literally what makes him interesting. You can find a villain attractive without rewriting his entire personality. And then there's her. I'm not even going to say her name because most people already know who I'm talking about. What bothers me is how quickly some people cross the line between being a fan and becoming genuinely parasocial. Then when people point it out, suddenly it's all excuses, denial, or acting like everyone else is the problem. It's always interesting how criticism becomes "hate" the moment someone doesn't want to take accountability. And the funniest part is the whole "daddy issues" thing. Real daddy issues are an actual psychological topic. They're not "I like a man who's ten years older than me" or whatever TikTok decided they mean this week. Some people throw therapy terms around because they sound quirky, not because they actually understand them. At the end of the day, I like Wilson. I like Bullseye.
