It’s nothing to do with social media. Zero. It’s all about setting up everyone else for digital ID. Parents are responsible for what and how under 18’s consume and have access to, not the government.

my daughter uses tictok for book recommendations. There are also teachers on tictok that show information on their subject to help children. My daughter uses these a lot to help with her homework. She's in year 10.

I can’t say I’m altogether mad about the ban but as you say - it’s too late for my 16 year old and there should be more done to prevent these platforms from exposing harmful content! My concern is - what about what the MSM is constantly broadcasting on the news also! Can’t that be considered harmful? Because I would! The amount of anxiety induced harm that has and does cause young people is next level - and sometimes it’s very difficult to avoid it! I e stopped watching the news because I find it very damaging to my MH never mind young people - and they broadcast this stuff all through the day! It doesn’t matter what time of the day - it’s there! So maybe they need to regulate the fear and horrors that they are also pouring into the media

Oh my I thought this was a good thing until I heard your argument. Why are we punishing the children and not the creators of this awful material. Make it make sense! First thing my 16 year old said, was the government will have your ID & will track you…he is spot on!
