Manta Rays!!! What makes them go so close to the light? Well, it's due to the fact that the light is making the plankton, especially the phytoplankton, believe that it's being photosynthesized. So it's being rushed up towards the top where the light source is coming from within the water, and the rays are attracted to the high concentration of the plankton. The manta rays of Hawaii are attracted to the lights due to the food. When there's no light, the food makes its way down to the bottom of the seafloor, and typically the manta rays follow. But nowadays, we have lights along the coast; therefore, manta rays are along the coastline during the night as well. #bucketlist #hawaii #pacificocean #oceantok #nightlife
