So I was told yesterday on the phone that my 14cm fibroid (which is causing havoc with my ovaries, stomach etc as well as the ridiculously extreme anaemia because of heavy periods) means I need a hysterectomy. They have some cancer concerns (although have said the MRI doesn't indicate cancer) so they're planning to do it fairly urgently. Have an appointment in a couple of weeks to discuss everything with the consultant and hopefully I'll get an indication of timeframe for surgery too. I was in shock yesterday tbh. I didn't even know I had fibroids until April - went to the doc over GI symptoms. I've never had surgery before so I'm a bit anxious but I've been feeling pretty awful for years now so if that's the end of it then it'll be worth it.

I had multiple fibriods, I had 13 removed in an open myomectomy in 2023, they all grew back plus some. I was bleeding heavily nearly every single day for about 2yrs. Then finally had had my hysterectomy, I've had a few complications but am so happy I had it done cause it was really effecting my life badly.
