@loviselohne: One year ago, I was sitting in a hospital questioning everything. I had finally gathered the courage to start medication for my mental health, only to end up hospitalized because of an allergic reaction. More than anything, I didn’t want to need medication. I wanted to be able to fix things on my own, so when I ended up hospitalized after starting treatment, it made me want to give up on the whole process. I was scared to try again. It took me two months to find the courage to give it another chance. Looking back now, I’m so grateful that I did. A year ago, I was struggling more than most people knew. I had just started my journey with psychiatry, and I had no idea that I would eventually be diagnosed with bipolar type 2 disorder. I didn’t know what the future would look like, and honestly, I wasn’t sure things would ever get better. Recovery wasn’t instant. There wasn’t one appointment, one medication, or one moment that suddenly fixed everything. It was a lot of trial and error, a lot of tears, a lot of setbacks, and a lot of days where I wanted to give up. But little by little, things started to change. Today, when I look at these videos, I don’t just see a physical difference. I see a girl who was fighting every single day just to get through life, and a girl who finally feels like she’s living again. If you’re in a dark place right now, I know it’s hard to believe, but the way you feel today doesn’t have to be how you feel forever. Keep going. Keep asking for help.
