When speaking at a natural, fast pace, Brazilians often swallow entire syllables. The word "dentro" (inside) completely loses the "tro" sound and blends right into the preposition "de". So "dentro de" simply becomes "den de"! A fun fact: in some cases, if you listen to a random 2-second clip, even native Brazilians might say they can’t understand it 😂 But here’s the secret: context. When you hear the flow of the full sentence (or story), your brain automatically fills in the missing sounds. And yes, this happens in every language, and Brazilians are masters at it. We swallow syllables, glue words together, and speak at 100 mph.
