@notadeepfake: ClickFix is a social engineering attack that uses fake CAPTCHAs to trick you into installing malware on your own device. How it works: You land on a website and see what looks like a standard Cloudflare verification. You click “I’m not a robot,” but instead of letting you through, it claims there was an error and gives you steps to “fix” it:open your terminal, paste a command, hit enter. What you don’t know is that the moment you clicked, malicious code was silently copied to your clipboard. You ran it yourself, which means your antivirus doesn’t flag it. What attackers can steal: Saved passwords, banking credentials, crypto wallets. Why it works on us: Three psychological levers: familiarity (CAPTCHAs are muscle memory), authority (the page mimics trusted brands like Cloudflare), and our instinct to solve small problems when given an easy fix. #cybersecurity #hacking #onlinesafety #techtok #scamalert

“who would fall for this” honestly, many people lol captchas change all the time. it’s odd and would create pause for many, many wouldn’t fall for it, but i absolutely can see how some would.

Kind reminder for people to realize that even if you personally wouldn't fall for something like that, people who aren't as well versed or experienced in the online space very much can. So if it applies, share it to a family member or friend who needs it.
