THANK YOU. it's so obvious he hasn't told us the full story yet. He's telling the story through songs and he hasn't even finished writing them, he sings "tararadira" and like... that's gonna be words eventually, flashbacks for us. People have no patience, hating on this season is becoming a trend and I hate it

ALSO something people aren’t considering in terms of tone is that for S1 and 2 we aren’t only being navigated by Louis but by Daniel who is getting a second chance at a story he already knows a lot about and is trying to understand. They specifically show that his prior knowledge makes the second interview better (the difference in his first questions!) this time around he only knows what Louis and Armand have told him about Lestat (yikes!) so Daniel is cleverly trying to give Lestat a chance to control the narrative (also bc he already released a book bashing him w/o ever knowing him) AND on top of this Daniel is checked out of this k review bc he has some bigger issues (vamp life, abandoned by vamp daddy, secret society following him) so Danny isn’t on his usual stern interview style like he was with Luis thus Lestat is able to really control the narrative in his own way (this is also bc of the vinyls being a future component but in the present timeline as well)!

twin i literally had an argument with multiple people in the comments of a video on here about this exact thing 😭 like yes Lestat can be dramatic, but also it's very on brand for him to gloss over things and NOBODY is understanding 💔

This is why I love the show sm. It’s aware that it’s a work of adaptation and it doesn’t shy away from it; it doesn’t try to recreate the books 1:1.

THANK YOU!!!!! i saw so many people complaining that the episode focused on gabi too much… the episode is about HER!! it’s ABOUT their relationship. the literal entire episode is lestat expanding on their dynamic. the episode OPENS with him saying he’s going to explain their dynamic. i don’t understand why so many are ignoring the literal text just for an assumed subtext

I wish i could like this 1k times. the lack of media literacy with ppl and this season is ASTOUNDING. it’s been 2 episodes but people are SO pressed abt there being “too much” modern day. like… the “modern day” in book universe was ALWAYS barreling towards qotd. You could almost even call that part of tvl a direct prequel to qotd. i think ppl want lestat to narrate his past like louis would but that’s just not going to happen.

And I noticed someone said we are skipping sides and albums of “the failures” like when you listen to the guy say “this is side blank of record blank” or whatever.. apparently we aren’t going in order or we have skipped some.. so I am fully under the belief or hope that people who think the narration sucks or something’s wrong with Lestats telling of the story are gonna walk those statements back because I think the way it’s being told is super intentional so that later in the season it can all unfold together and you’re sitting there like “whaaaaaat” screaming at the tv.. I can’t wait 😂🥰

I am DELIGHTED of how are they narrating things in the series ♡♡ and it is SO LESTAT. THEY GET THE CHARACTERS. Also I don't know if they would portray Magnus as I picture him when I read the book 15 years ago. I was fixated in HIM ONLY HAVING FANGS AND NO TEETH.
