Zip 30 year warranty want you to tape any penetrations either using their tape or their liquid sealer. Anything else for the warranty. Says it’s right there on their website.

At what point is it just not worth it, the extra 10k in material, the extra 3k in labor. They extra time spent. I have torn apart countless houses with old osb and even older 1x with nothing vapor barrier and it’s fine . Just use osb and torch on a fully adhered membrane. Seal it, tape it, paint it. Sing it a song and send it to the moon

Their site a few years ago never required nails to be covered. Also said pretty much any product is safe on the board. Now they want only their overpriced sealer on the nails. I used roof patch. $12 for a massive tube
