The absolutely correct thing is that the Earth rotates once every 23H 56M and a few seconds!! Something that is the reason why the Earth has the same side to the sun during the day, all year round!!! If the Earth rotated in exactly 24H, then the noon would change during the year, and 12Am would be midday 1 months a year, and 12Pm would be midday 6 months later!!!
