@moxiehq: This rant is directed at society for making us feel like the condition of our hymen is a measure of our worth. It’s NOT! Some of us are born without one, some of us don’t bleed during first intercourse, and either way, our hymen usually tears away over time from regular daily activities like playing sports. You can’t really know the condition of your hymen - there is no ‘test.’ Yes, tampon use can tear away the tissue, but remember, it’s is a ring of tissue around the opening, not a film or ‘seal’ totally covering it (this is only in very rare cases and if you suspect this is you, you need to see a doctor).
