@jvelleberry: So I was pulled over and cited for allegedly running a stop sign in Bellevue. Please note: I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. After the ticket I went to the courthouse and pleaded not guilty. Also I requested dash cam footage so that you could see that I in fact did stop at this sign. They didn’t have dash cams (very convenient) but they did provide me with body cam footage. In the footage after the cop goes back to his cruiser..we find out this is a new officer in training. The boy is confused and he’s trying to figure out what’s his reason for stopping me.. on the body cam the boy is recorded saying “can I say I stopped him for a stop sign”.. clearly he doesn’t have a just reason prior to the stop. I figure..there’s no way I lose a case in America where I didn’t do anything wrong. Boy was I wrong..I lost the case in court because the judge recognized the cops word as evidence but my word or the video was not considered. I was expected in the courtroom to give up my rights and lie to the court about being guilty in order to accept a lesser penalty, which I did not. Now my plan is to appeal because I have the rest of my life to fight this system of oppression and I won’t be taken advantage of. I want to know if anyone has experience making an appeal and I also want to connect with a lawyer that will help me out because this is bigger than a stop sign to me. I will not be push around by the system or let it go. Register for pacer and search for appeal cases relevant to your situation. Ctrl + F your state’s criminal code and see if what you received meets requirements. Failure to follow procedure is a great foundation for appeal.

I got a dash cam because of something like this. cop didn't have any camera shots of incident. Cop lied in court, I even had a witness in the car when the incident happened. Judge and prosecutor said if cop said it happened that's all they need to hear😡

The stop was unlawful. This is 4th amendment violation but these kangaroo courts don’t respect the constitution, so you will have to appeal to a higher court. Find a lawyer to write the appeal even if he don’t represent you. Because you only have a certain time frame to appeal

I’m addition to pursuing legal recourse, please take the time to report this officer to Internal Affairs- not sure your county but hopefully this helps. A Formal Misconduct Complaint alleging a Fourth Amendment violation (unreasonable seizure), an unlawful traffic stop, and a breach of professional standards.
