I don't think Epping Forest should be used for housing estates. There are a lot of vacant and unused land sites that could definitely be used for more housing without touching the Forest.

Interestingly, I had a very interesting conversation with a Taxi driver, one day who was telling me that the forest was being quietly sold to developers. And that chances are they they’re gonna start eating into the green belt.

Epping Forrest need the development/housing to deliver much needed infrastructure through S106 agreements. Members of the public need to understand how much money developers give to local schools, health care facilities open space contributions etc etc… build more houses boost the economy.

House building :
the government has turned round and taken over due Epping failing to do the job, many councils have under funded the planning departments and now the government has decided it’s had enough and taken back control to get the job done, if Epping truly cared about the green belt and planning in general it would have done the job in the first place, too many applications not done in the required time but taking a lot longer. So it’s the council fault they got paid to do a job and didn’t do it.

Epping forest have been systematically denying legitimate planning applications and imposing illegal and unreasonable conditions on developers against guidance within the NPPF. If were being fair in their practices then the government wouldn’t have stepped in

fk the green belt honestly, CBA trees when people don't have homes to live in. we don't need farmland when a better use of that land is to home people when we pay farmers pennies and rip them off anyway. 2 birds 1 stone
