Ryanair should know how the baggage check staff treat passengers at Tirana Airport, Albania. I’ll mention just one example out of many: Is it legal for them to take your bank card details — and even worse, to do it over the phone — in order to complete a payment? And is it acceptable for a staff member to point at a passenger with a pen, or what looked like a small stick, to decide whether they can pass or not during the baggage size check?

Despite purchasing Priority Boarding and Extra Legroom seats, we were charged approximately $70 each for cabin bags that comply with Ryanair’s published size limits and had been accepted on several recent Ryanair flights. Our paid Extra Legroom seats were changed without our consent, Priority Boarding was not honored, and there was no payment terminal at the gate. We were required to provide our card details, including the CVV security code, and were told we could be denied boarding if we refused to pay. We request a full refund of the baggage charges and seat fees, a written explanation for the seat changes, and a review of the staff’s conduct and payment procedures used at Gate A68.
