@shesnotcrazyseries: A disease that affects 1 in 10 women. Same prevalence as diabetes. Thirty times less research funding. Pain rated against cancer. No cure. Average diagnosis takes seven to ten years. And most men have never heard the word. The woman in your life who’s been told her pain is in her head might have a disease the system forgot to look for. Endometriosis. Now you know. #shesnotcrazy #cycleawareness #marriage #understandingwomen #periods

I was diagnosed in 3 years, only because I had a 9cm endometrioma. Took 9 months to get surgery. EVERY woman in my family had it and had hysterectomies.

A few correction:
- It is not the tissue that normally lines the uterus. It is similar, but not the same.
- It is any time and all of the time, not just during your cycle.
- It had been found in every single organ in the human body.

Yep… Dr. told me I just had to deal with it. It wasn’t officially diagnosed until I had a hysterectomy at age 45

It's actually not cycle related. It's a full body disease that affects us every day, all month long.

Crazy thing is I had to explain what endometriosis is to one of my female friends because she never even heard of it. I don’t have it but I genuinely wish I could take some of the pain away from the women that do ❤️🩹 It needs to be talked about and researched more!
