might be a hot take, but the original is probably the most overrated game oat, arguably the worst ff. the remakes fix basically all of the huge problems with it. Don’t get how ANYONE can prefer the original to the remakes

I think for the most part they’re pretty games and have some neat additions and although I’m not a fan of the combat I think it’s a fun system. I just wish it didn’t meddle in story stuff that takes away heartfelt moments from characters like Barret who already aren’t super beloved by lots of fans my age (16-21) and essentially makes remake people’s first impression of ff7 when the original had so much charm and moments from it are stripped down or gone and a lot of people won’t bother to revisit it since they see it as obsoloete :(

Square definitely blew it when not being upfront of their intentions when announcing the remake, personally i think both games are good. Im more of a fan of the og but the remakes are still good games and better in some aspects.
