my mother would not compliment me and wat she would do is complement the neighbors children in my presence so I can hear and feel bad about myself but luckily did she know I did the work on myself already so she can not touch my self-esteem .

My mother has always been beautiful, but she’s never achieved anything. She’s constantly critiquing my appearance - from my clothes, makeup, how I smile for photos. I didn’t realize til later how abnormal this is for a mother to do.
