@youpayforthis: Schools push uni. Banks profit from student loans. AI's cutting entry-level grad jobs. Nobody shows you the actual numbers or that trades are the AI-proof career in 2026. Here's what they don't teach in careers class. 👇 Drop a 🔧 if you chose a trade or wish you did. my son is doing plumbing in tech. no plumbing company wants to take him on as the government has now made it that the company will take him on as they need to pay him minimum wage in his 1st year. no more £50 a week while he learns

trades aren't being supported anymore by the government. For a student to get into a trade school they have to find a posting with a firm to take them on. Back in the day the trades were supported financially by the government within schemes to help bring on apprentices. That's no longer there . The system needs changed to help small sme bring on and teach apprentices imo

I started an apprenticeship at 30 in Maintenance Engineering, finished and employed now. Best decision I've made in a long time. It's just getting an opportunity to get your foot in the door, that's the hard part.

I used claude fable before it got stopped by the US government and its terrifying how good it it. So many degrees will be worthless by the time these kids graduate.

To be honest, more and more ppl will be able to represent themselves in court without a solicitor, sure AI can literally be your own personal legal expert.

the reason I said 64k and not 66k was because I edited out the 2k where I covered the apprenticeship expenses, certs, clothing, tools etc

My son originally wanted ho to queens to do aeronautical engineering. He’s joining the raf doing an apprenticeship in stead. I did computing in 1998. I’m on alright money. Trades are way to go.
