@ibijoke.img: The' Project a Black Planet: The Art and Culture of Panafrica' exhibition at the @Barbican Centre ✨ Walking through this exhibition on the night of the Private View made me think 'I need to come back!' As I took in the artworks, I quickly started to see the importance of an exhibition like this I started to visually map a journey across Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, North America, and Western Europe. I started to envision the history It made me reflect on what we learn in schools. I can say for a fact that it's definitely not this, and what a shame that is. The exhibition opened my eyes to the many artists, and art forms which form and celebrate the influence of Pan-Africanism on visual art and culture. Featuring over 300 works. From paintings and installations to posters, journals, and film from the 1920s to the present I wish I learned about this in school.
