In my family we call them astilbe astilbe dead as they never survive in my garden but false goatsbeard which is related to the astilbe thrives in my garden

It's beautiful but a nightmare to dig up...had to use a shovel, ax and secateurs...took me an hour to dig up a small plant...dear lord the roots were like threads and some bigger and the worked like a spring everything bounced of them😆
