My husband is an artist and adjunct professor who makes about half as much as me. He’s also the one who been my rock and helped me care for my two elderly parents with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, thanklessly and without complaint. I far prefer that kind of reliability than financial security. I have always been able to support myself.

My husband and I both work full time, today on the way home I was driving and ended up throwing up pretty violently, he told me to pull over, got my emergency barf bag from the trunk and got me safely to the passenger seat, took over the drive and made sure I was good before going to help his friend real quick, now he’s on the way home to tuck me in the bed
