Here's what I want you to think about: How we see things is informed by our experiences. That's how many people have seen that behavior and it reminded them of a time they saw or experienced violence from someone who displayed that behavior. If what you see is just a man reading a Bible and exercising his hand; you are part of a very fortunate minority. Is it unfortunate that people assumed they were looking at a violent man? Yeah. That stings when you know the person isn't like that. But not as much as it sucks that those people learned a very different interpretation of that behavior the hard way.
