yes. that's normal. what do you think therapy is for? it's not just to unpack childhood trauma. it's also to help you understand yourself and get some perspective. sometimes that means looking at your actions and going 'what the fuck?'

When I started therapy, every damn time. Just saying some of the thoughts I had out loud made me feel like a total asshole. EMDR was insanely helpful and helped make sense of my goofy ass. Hang in there, homie.

I never feel better when I leave. After a few days I am usually at least where I was beforehand... Then a day or two before my next appointment I feel better.

Feels like a natural part of the process. We're all the heroes of our own stories to varying degrees and sometimes the only way we gain the proper perspective is by doing exactly what you did: speaking our actions out loud, truthfully, and letting them resonate with ourselves out in the open. You're making progress, even if that progress might feel shitty every now and then.

Yes I have. Could be worse - I had a therapist say that I was emotionless and then gave me the Vulcan live long and prosper hand gesture.

You have to face and come to terms with your own actions and habits to be able to make meaningful changes. Growth through discomfort and honesty.

Therapy, with a good therapist, tends to be a mirror so sometimes it’s a slap in the face and sometimes it’s reminding yourself that’s not who you are. Both options good. One can hurt more than the other lol
