#ChangeMakers event back in May celebrating the extraordinary legacy and talent of who has been an inspiration to me since I was a kid. She does it ALL! is cultivating the next generation of filmmakers and storytellers and the future looks bright. I was compelled to raise my paddle. Thank you for the invite and letting me share this special moment with my bestie/forever friend and perfect red carpet date 🤴🏾👸🏾💃🏾🕺🏽 As always- styled by the incomparable Also, I have been out of county for 2 months so I have to take a moment to address the strikes with the #wga & #sagaftra. We need our storytellers. Not more than other jobs (so don’t blow up my dm’s) but this level of greed, AI ignorance & manipulation to cut jobs, steal identities, and weld corporate power in a way to willingly starving people & their families out of house and home is really alarming. The effects of these contracts will hit every industry. It’s always a ripple effect but this situation is a labor issue in all areas of our new world. There is more and more, so share the wealth and don’t steal artists work. Sounds simple. Also, I know it all looks much more glamorous than it actually is. Being a working artist who can survive going gig to gig (which is hard to even book work) then be paid a minimum is rougher than one might think when they just see red carpets and bougie shit…but that’s a TINY (and very occasional) part of the day to day. As actors we can’t look desperate or trust me, you wont get work. Writers create work that runs everywhere and they get little or no residuals but the networks & studios do? The world is changing and we have to adapt and stop letting the old way be the only way. We can get fair wages & residuals, not let AI replace us and stop the greed in all industries but it takes a lot to get there. If you’re curious about the strikes & how you can help, check out for more info.
