I just don’t get it, add 20% across the menu and pay the staff their percentage instead of this back and forth with non tippers regardless of where they are from. Staff are happier and patrons understand that this is their bill without the quandary or guilt

So I am from Germany no we have very strict no Smoking rules in Most of European countries. Some countries have designated Smoking rooms in Restaurants but only a few.

Went to England a few years ago and quite of few of the sit down eateries have auto gratuity. Honestly so much easier than calculating tip

An even better idea would be to work the automatic gratuity into the cost of menu items and just pay a higher wage so folks don’t have to rely on strangers.

In Europe the employees are all paid wages such that tipping is not needed. They should have just raised the menu prices at the locations near the World Cup -
