I’m in Alaska and yes we are looking forward to global warming. In my lifetime I have seen big changes in the climate.

I don’t understand this guy; what does he want to achieve? Alaska is a good investment, but at the time, they did not realise there are going to be Rare Earth Elements in Alaska, which contains a large share of untapped elements needed for electric vehicles and renewable energy, including neodymium and praseodymium.

So? Canada will take Alaska (if you don’t want). We would be happy to have them. We have like in total 2-3 big cities.

It’s true, but it’s a little misleading.
Alaska generates around US$10 billion in federal tax revenue while receiving roughly US$18 billion in federal spending, so on the surface the claim is correct.
However, Alaska’s economy (GDP) is around US$70 billion a year. That money doesn’t disappear, it goes to workers’ salaries (around US$30 billion), company profits, suppliers, reinvestment, and state and local revenues.
The comparison is between federal taxes collected and federal spending received, not between the wealth Alaska generates and what it keeps. Those are two very different things.

Resources are an international commodity, not the United States property. Alaska is a debt state, for every 6 dollars the federal government spends we send 1 back. In the next 30 years the State and federal governments will spend a trillion dollars relocating villages on the west coast of the state as permafrost melts.
