@selgal09: Today, I learnt that youth in South Africa is defined as anyone between the ages of 15 and 35. 😅 My first thought was: how can 15 and 35 possibly be grouped together? They’re such different stages of life, yet somehow both are considered youth. As I reflected on this, what struck me most was everything that can happen between those ages. The plans we make, the detours we never expected, the dreams that take longer than we thought, and the versions of ourselves we become along the way. As we remember the young people of 1976, whose courage helped shape the South Africa we know today, I’m reminded that every generation of youth faces its own challenges, hopes, and dreams for the future. So today, I hope you’re gentle with yourself if life doesn’t look exactly as you imagined it would by now. There is no single timeline for becoming who you’re meant to be.
