As a child of a black father and white mother we still get this to this day and it’s so tiring

I can’t imagine what horrid racist things you heard and maybe still hear from people who think you’re white 😞

No bc you posted a picture of your parents before and even though you have fair skin your features look exactly like your mom and plus you have curlier hair so i thought it will be obvious 😭

As a light Mexican, I also have that problem with my dad. My dad is a dark Mexican. I got my mother’s light complexion.

I am Black and my wife is White, our 3 kids look more latino. We have been together 40 years (married for 38). My wife sometimes has people not associating our daughter and her as family members when they’re out at a gym. When my kids are with me, that never happens even though they present more Latino. My son are as light as you. Having said that, our kids were loved by both sides, raise in a multicultural area and we educated them on what to expect and not to assign value to these types of things because it’s out of the norm for most people and is usually innocent. We all deal with something about who we are but the only thing that really matters is God, family and friends! Our youngest is 31 and all of them are doing very well in life, including our 4 grandchildren. We learned not to sweat the small stuff and focus more on our blessings. May God guide and bless your journey 🙏🏾

I’m mixed and adopted by a white family (that I barely talk to any of them anymore) and it’s so exhausting. Like whiteness in America contradicts my morals and my core being. Then I moved to the bay and found my peoooe

Yes! I picked my daughter up from daycare & the new worker was so confused when I was the one to get her & not her dad 😳😅

My great granddaughter is blond with blue eyes. I take her shopping frequently. I believe people think I am the babysitter. So I own that because most people probably give it no thought about it at all. They are minding their own business.

But didn’t your friends know that was your mom? And school officials didn’t know from parent-teacher conferences & open houses?
