Ruwanwelisaya (රුවන්වැලි සෑය) ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ අනුරාධපුරයේ පිහිටි බෞද්ධයන්ගේ අතිශය පූජනීය දාගැබ් වලින් එකක්. මෙය ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ඉතිහාසය, බුද්ධාගම, සහ පුරාවිද්‍යාව තුළ ඉතා වැදගත් ස්ථානයක් ගනී. ප්‍රධාන විස්තර මෙය ක්‍රි.පූ. 2වන සියවසේදී King Dutugemunu (දුටුගැමුණු රජතුමා) විසින් ඉදිකිරීම ආරම්භ කළා. රජතුමාගේ ජීවිත කාලය තුළ සම්පූර්ණ කිරීමට නොහැකි වූ අතර, පසුව ඔහුගේ සහෝදරයා වූ King Saddhatissa විසින් එය නිම කළ බව සඳහන් වේ. “රුවන්වැලි” යන්නෙහි අර්ථය “රන්වැලි මෙන් දිලිසෙන” යන්න ලෙස අර්ථ දැක්වෙයි. ව්‍යුහය උස මීටර් 100ට අධික වූ විශාල දාගැබක් ලෙස නිර්මාණය කර ඇත. පුරාණ කාලයේ ලෝකයේ විශාලතම ස්මාරක අතරින් එකක් ලෙස සැලකේ. දාගැබ වටා අලි ප්‍රතිමා පේළියක් දක්නට ලැබේ, එය එහි විශේෂ ලක්ෂණයක්. ආගමික වැදගත්කම මෙහි Gautama Buddha වහන්සේගේ ධාතු නිධන් කර ඇති බව බෞද්ධ සම්ප්‍රදායේ සඳහන් වේ. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට සහ විදේශීය බෞද්ධයන්ට වන්දනා කිරීම සඳහා ඉතා වැදගත් ස්ථානයක්. පිහිටීම Anuradhapura පුරාණ නගරයේ, Mahamevnawa ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටා ඇත.🤍🙏 Ruwanwelisaya (Ruwanwelisaya) is one of the most sacred Buddhist stupas in Sri Lanka, located in Anuradhapura. It holds great importance in Sri Lankan history, Buddhism, and archaeology. Main Details It was begun in the 2nd century BCE by King Dutugemunu. The king was unable to complete it during his lifetime, and it was later completed by his brother, King Saddhatissa. The name “Ruwanwelisaya” is often understood to mean “shining like golden sand.” Structure It was built as a massive stupa rising over 100 meters in height. In ancient times, it was considered one of the largest monuments in the world. A distinctive feature is the row of elephant sculptures surrounding the stupa. Religious Importance According to Buddhist tradition, sacred relics of Gautama Buddha are enshrined here. It is an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists from Sri Lanka and around the world.
