@Bigjp: I don’t think you can point to history as to how the market has evolved , the game has changed significantly over the last 16 years , and we are now entering a new phase. Old norms are being challenged. If you go back to 2008 in the post GFC era you have had a decade and half of near 0 interest rates , governments have been printing money , look at a 15 year chart of any stock or indice , it’s been a one way ride , if you spent the last 15 years holding a tracker you’ve done well but missed opportunity to create real wealth, educating yourself and picking good solid single stocks would have seen gains many many times that. One example I talked about on another post was an all world fund vs Apple over 15 years , the difference is huge. We are now on the dawn of the biggest single generational opportunity to create wealth , the a.i opportunity will make millionaires if people are prepared to scratch beneath the surface and do some research the potential is massive. It’s an unpopular approach because it goes against the IFA type information that most people look no further than , a new dawn is upon us and the traditional approach will be limiting.

I’m under no illusion that my methods will carry a low CAGR over a couple of decades. The fact of the matter is having a low starting capital is the best and only time to be making extremely high risk plays, and then ETF and chill afterwards. I’ll 10x my port and move to 7% returns afterward.
