I’ve done similar with my collie, she will recall around either side of me now or through my legs, super useful when other dogs won’t recall and you need a safe space for your dog.

Do you have any tips for not very food motivated dogs? He will learn something then cba to do it again after 2 days for food or toys🥲 even resorted to roast beef as a treat and he just gets bored of any food after a few hours. He is 5 months old, he is a bearded bubbling mayonnaise apprentice🫡 (notice how his ears stand up here, the apprenticeship is going well)
