From Scud’s simpler textures and lighting in the original film to the photorealistic fur of the cat, floating dust particles, realistic shadows, and intricate environmental details seen in the fourth film, every frame reflects decades of technological and artistic advancement. In fact, ‘Toy Story 4’ director Josh Cooley revealed that some scenes even looked “too realistic,” so they actually reduced the realism to preserve the distinctive look.
