@writeseen: Most people think actors stop getting starstruck once they become famous. Jamie Foxx says that’s not true. When he arrived on Any Given Sunday (1999), he was about to work with Al Pacino. The Al Pacino. The Godfather. Scarface. Dog Day Afternoon. Jamie expected him to be intimidating. Instead, Pacino sat with him. Talked through scenes. Answered questions. Helped him find the character. The Hollywood legend Jamie expected never showed up. The man did. Week after week, Pacino couldn’t have been more supportive. Eventually Jamie relaxed. He stopped seeing Al Pacino the icon. And started seeing Al Pacino the actor. Then somebody walked over and said: “Al wants to see you.” Instantly, all that confidence disappeared. Jamie started humming The Godfather theme as he walked over. Like he’d just been summoned by Michael Corleone. That’s the thing about true legends. They can spend weeks proving they’re just people. And one sentence can remind everyone why they became legends in the first place.
