i've had the theory from the second he was cast as doom that this isn't really "doom", this is a tony stark variant. like this is what he became instead of a hero. he'll be defeated and the real doom will show up later.

I like this take although I had another theory. Tony did create a failsafe because he wanted his daughter to still grow up with a dad so he cloned himself and Tony’s snap did something to disrupt the process. This was Tony’s Doomsday scenario. Then the clone named himself after Victor Frankenstein. Boom…Victor von Doom aka the Doomsday scenario.

idk.. because doom already has existed in fantastic 4 universe, he has had a whole life and everything and is known there.. like iron man.. " suit around the world " " cursed with knowledge ".. so since doom is possibly a variant, he is just as smart or even smarter.. so maybe he knows he looks like their tony stark and knows what happened , and is using that to his advantage .
