@getreeldad: It’s easy to put a kid in time out. They’re yelling? Not listening? Just block them in their room. Easy. Problem gone. And now you can focus on what’s more important — whatever it was that YOU were doing. Right? ❓ Wrong! Unless there’s a fire, putting a small child in a detainment unit is simply you putting your own needs above theirs. And, newsflash, their needs are probably a bit more pressing. 🚨 It takes far more patience to put yourself on hold and sit with them. Work through their struggle, no matter how long it takes. And even if you’re in the middle of disciplining them, if they ask for love. You give it. End of. 🤍 • • • #mistermom #parenttips #parentingdoneright #parentsupport
Time out in a safe environment is not with holding affection. Correctly using time out with age guided minutes given, so children can learn to self calm & allow them to think is key to their developmental needs. As his Father, you can show understanding and love with time out when you do it the right way. Things you will learn as he grows.

Emma :
This because I was always told to go to my room when I did something wrong and was never able to express my emotions as a child and now I barely can as an adult even to my spouse who I know I can trust 100%. Thank you for raising a capable human being from those of us who weren’t raised that way

We do “cool downs” in his room together. He never wants me to hold him but I always remind him I’m there if he wants a hug. Sometimes he asks me to leave but he knows I’ll come back as soon as he asks.

Be careful with your baby's bones, as they are still fragile and developing. Any improper position or sudden movement can potentially cause injuries that may affect their growth and future health. It could lead to problems in the spine, vertebrae, tendons, ligaments, or other parts of the musculoskeletal system.

We never did time but what we did was to tell him to go to the thinking chair which was in the same room ( open floor plan) and just take a few minutes to think about it and when he’s done thinking, come back to me and we will talk about it..never separated from him..I agree 100% with what you are saying..we did this all of 3 times.. 😁 they are grown now..
