Ig it’s b/c we let the mb choppy and ugly style of the old animation, b/c back then it was so new. But this doesn’t look as appealing in an age where animation has improved significantly and also it looking like this after getting an artistic masterpiece from the same world (Puss in Boots) it pales in comparison. Not saying it had to be copy and paste of that film but it makes it harder to like this art style for most.

I think the problem with the new animation is that it "feels" pretty, it used to be beautifully ugly. but it at this point im just hoping the storyline is good instead of the animation cause movies these days have been so tiring and repetitive or badly written (not all obviously)
