To all the people that think taking a picture to flip your drawing is a "better" method than the mirror trick. First of all, you do you. If you genuinely like that method, go for it! But personally, the reason why it is not my favorite go-to method is because fixing traditional anatomy is a constant back-and-forth process. If I have to stop, pick up my phone, take a picture, open an app, hit flip, find the error, put the phone down, make one pencil stroke, and then repeat that entire cycle 40 times just to fix a pair of eyes... it completely kills my creative flow and fills up my phone storage with God knows how many pictures. Plus, phone lenses naturally distort flat perspective up close. If your phone is tilted even slightly, it warps your drawing and lies to you anyway. The mirror gives you an instant, unwarped geometric reflection in 0.5 seconds without ruining your workflow. Let's work smarter, not harder!

in the art school they taught us to just flip the paper/canvas upside down 😅 and also look from distance, but it's more for knowing if your composition and colouring is good
