@circusfaery33: In order to actually understand the crime statistics between our communities, you have to understand 1) socioeconomic status as the primary driver of crime and how race and socioeconomic status are linked in the US due to systemic disparities disproportionately disadvantaging Black Americans 2) the immigrant paradox and Asian Americans being the only racial group in the US that are majority immigrant and 1st gen and 3) the history of redlining that put our neighborhoods together to create the model minority myth, framing issues like criminality, family structure and academic achievement as being about race-based cultural values when they are not. And the only effective root cause solutions are prioritizing Black liberation and universal equity.
