As a dementia nurse manager I will never forget the day I sat in a clients home he looked beside me and said oh you brought your mom and dad too … I had lost both parents and at that time my mom only a year before

a medium stopped my mother and told her that my aunt,who had dementia, was with her parents on the other side. She passed a year later. she often spoke out loud to her parents aswell.

I'm really curious about this because sometimes they seem to remember nothing at all and then suddenly they become completely lucid and remember something from 20 plus years ago. so it seems like the memories are still there, just not constantly accessible.

My dad was in stage six Alzheimer’s and wandered out of his new house. We couldn’t find him anywhere. I went to the driveway and someone in my head told me “he’s over there” I ran directly to where he was a whole block away and found him crawling, sobbing in someone’s driveway looking for his mom who had passed 40 years ago. I wonder if his soul told me where he was.

My Dad with Alzheimer’s sees my cat. I think my cat astral travels to him in the hospital when he’s asleep at home… and cats sleep a lot. They’re busy little energetic creatures.

as someone who works with people with dementia and Alzheimer's. they are people living with diseases just like people that have certain cancers and other chronic illnesses.
