That is why Mr Simayi as MACHANGANA (proudly) of Bushbuckridge we don't 'vulavula' but 'KHULUMA XICHANGANA', at school obviously we write & learn Xitsonga also proudly another topic, you'll never or hardly hear Machangana born bread in Bush say I'm Tsonga it's difficult for us to say it, even my BANTU stand birth certificate under GAZANKULU say MUchangana as tribe not Tsonga, I'm a KHOZA, we're not trying or not even interested in being ZULU but we're proudly decedents OF Soshangane wa Ghughunyana. So in short my leader you're correct.🙏🇿🇦🇿🇦

Actually Tsonga was a mispronunciation of Tonga which is linguistically classified as part of the Copi group and completely different to the Tsonga-shangaan group. There are no similarities at all. Shangaan and smaller groups of hlengwe,hlaluke,lozi,Ndau referred to themselves as Tsonga tryna pronounce Tonga cos Tonga People were peaceful and not violent. That's why in Tsonga "ku tonga" means to hold yourself in high esteem. As well as kuti Tsongahata which means to humble yourself. That's how the name Tsonga came about.

Not Tzaneen but the Shangaan are mostly found in Bushbuckridge including the royal heritage. Go to Bush and you will meet the royals who will help you with more information

The surnames are one my elder...The Mthimkhulu's that left with Soshangane are related to the ones who were ruled by King Mzilikazi, King Zwangandeba, king Nxaba Msane and King Ngwane Maseko. So the same applies to Ndlovu/Ndhlovu/Mojuvu(Portuguese), One nation that was divided by their respectful rulers, those who sides with Shaka remianed in KZN, others left with King Mzilikazi, King Soshangane, King Zwangendaba, King Nxaba, King Ngwane.

Mushwana is a Nkuna surname, they left with Shiluvana who defected from Soshangana when he invaded the territory. There’s a decent collection of your history but it overlaps and it is not specific.
