5/29 Euthanasia List: Dora #A2046624, 5Y, Spayed, HW+, Rescue, sponsor I first saw Dora back in November and she caught my eye because she looks so much like @dogmotherrunner’s dog who is a BARC alum. She got adopted before hitting the euth list that time after she undergoing two surgeries - a spay abort and a spay incision repair. She was found again as a stray which usually has me cursing at the wind but something about this girl makes me think she was really loved. She’s wearing a collar with her chip number on it (the phone number is out of service), she knows sit, down & shake (in English AND SPANISH!!), she has a shelter photo of her laying on a couch in a pink fuzzy sweater, in March she had a heartworm treatment consent form submitted, and when outside she seemed to be looking around hopelessly at first. I just really wish she could talk lol. She’s such a barrel of laughs and is just such a HAPPY dog. She played in the mud, rolled around in the dirt, gave a jumpy hello to everyone she met, and performs all of her tricks at once when you only ask for one. With how infrequently I’ve been able to go to BARC recently I think it’s so crazy that I just so happened to see her while strolling down the rows. I hope she gets out for good this time. Medical Notes: 5/14/26 s/o: about halfway distally of the tail is relatively more limp but in general the dog still has control of the tail. able to lift the tail away to be able to defecate and urinate without contacting the tail. and wags the tail. nonpainful with palpation and no abnormal deviations. a: tail injury p: possible muscle fatigue of tail or previous injury. will place carprofen 100mg SID x 3 days Left eye has moderate amount of watery d/c and no squinting in that eye on exam today. Pt is a sharpei mix and might have some entropion. NO treatment needed at this time. Please visit the links in my bio if you can adopt or foster!
