Just had a spinal cord stimulator put in after 2 failed surgeries. Too early to tell if it's effective.

Fusion would be the last resort, if that… the fusion puts more “wear and tear” or strain on the whole spine, it’s scary and I never heard of anyone having a “success” story , it ends up being more painful or no change for some.

L-3/L-4/L-5 spinal fusion. I'm two months post-op. I haven't decided if it's helped yet or not.

I’ve had spinal fusion 6 times on the Cx2, on the T X4 on different sites. Each approximately 5 to 7 . I will be 70 next month for the past five years. I’m having no pain relief. I have decided no more surgery since I don’t wanna go to pain in the surgery and only last another five years I normally

I had a spinal cord neurostimulator, a zillion epidural injections, and finally had a ALIF lumbar fusion. That was 12 years ago. Had great relief for years but past few have been horrible. Just had MRI and I have herniated discs above my fusion level😫😫

I have spinal stenosis. First diagnosed in 2019 with moderate to severe stenosis. Had L4-5 fused in 2020. So far it has been great. I am a ski instructor and figure skater. The surgeon said it was okay to ski easy beginner slopes and resume skating with no jumps after 9 months. After 12 months I was cleared to ski expert slopes and jump on skates. Was in a skating competition after 12 months. I enter 3-5 skating competitions a year and am on snow 30+ days a year. Have continued exercises from PT and my sports medicine doctor gave me some more exercises for flexibility in attempt to delay future fusion. Neurosurgeon said I would probably need more surgery in 2025. Recent x-rays, CT, MRI shows stenosis is progressing in C4-6 and L2-3 regions. I am hoping I will be able to delay surgery until 2027 or 2028. One thing I have noticed is that surgeons seem to absolutely hate snowboards. I had ankle surgery and ortho surgeon cleared me to ski and skate after 9 months but to stay off snowboard for at least 18 months. Neurosurgeon and osteopath sports medicine doctor told me 9 months for ski and skate after fusion and 24 months for snowboard.
