Try getting a board like this without the teeth bits on the end, then you can fold your foil over the end of the board and get much closer to the root xx

That foil thing happens to me sometimes. it’s the hair of the client it just doesn’t work with the foil , either too clean or dirty I honestly don’t know but it happens to me and I’ve been a stylist for over 25 years hahah so don’t stress.

Honestly it might even be the brush your using, the pro tip ones are so much better for foiling in my opinion because they are much harder bristles which means you can help keep tension and saturate better x

What ratio do you mix your bleach to peroxide? I could be wrong but I would try it a little bit thicker it might help the foils stay in place a bit more xx

Try a balayage board more! This helped my apprentice so much! She can now do it without one 🙌🏻

a balayage board changed the game for me! Fold the foil backwards over the top of the board and keep a firm grip on the bottom of the hair while you saturate the mids, also keeping the bleach a thicker consistency helps too xx

try putting a little bit of bleach on the foil before you apply the foi to the hair this means that the dry hair will stick to the foil and cause less slippage x

Try putting your hand underneath the foil and while your applying the bleach push the foil up I still struggle with mine but tension is key 🥰

Hey girly, I’m also an apprentice and I find using a carbon fiber balayage board really helps. It’s thin, letting you get close to the root and makes the foil neater and more sturdy x
